Palm Beach Kindergarten


		Community We value the interest and involvement of parents and families to share in, contribute and be apart of their child's developmental journey at Palm Beach Kindergarten. We believe that close contact and co-operation with parents is essential in the development of each child. This communication helps to create an environment based on trust and a mutual understanding between life at home and at pre-school. The Kindy works closely with families to provide a positive experience for their child at the first state of their education. Parent Roster - As a Community based Pre-school, Palm Beach Kindergarten welcomes the involvement and participation of parents within the centre. A parent roster is available for parents in terms 2, 3 and 4. the roster does not operate in Term 1 because we believe that first term is a time for settling in children and learning routines. It is more difficult for the children to be independent if parents are with the children. Participation is not compulsory but parents are encouraged to try to find the time so that they can see their child within the Kindy environment. It is a perfect opportunity to see who their friends are, what their interests are and how they adapt to a different environment. Parents can come as often as they like, but must sign up on the roster in advance. If possible, only one parent per day may sign up. The Management Committee is made up of a group of volunteer parents who fulfil duties, which assist with the successful running of the Kindy. These positions are filled annually at our AGM and are both rewarding and fun. The Committee consists of: President, Vice President, Secretary, Fundraising Co-ordinator (and fund raising sub committee), Working Bee Co-ordinator, Fundraising Treasurer Working Bees - All parents are asked to attend one weekend morning each year to help with the general maintenance of the Centre. A roster is drawn up by our Working Bee Co-ordinator at the beginning of the year. A bond of $100 per family is charged at the beginning of the year, and this is refunded when your child leaves the Kindy if all working bees have been attended. Social Events - Through out the year the kindergarten holds a range of social and fundraising events including an Easter picnic, a pizza and puzzle night with the Dads, a family disco, wine and cheese night and our annual art auction.
