CURRICULUM

Palm Beach Kindergarten believes in providing a play-based program that supports opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, collaborate, improvise, and imagine. We provide a supportive, flexible, and responsive play environment, which ensures a balance between child led, child initiated, and educator supported learning.

We aim to create an environment both indoors and outdoors, that is inviting, inclusive, safe, and secure. We believe that environments play an integral part of how a child learns and providing a stimulating environment is crucial to the development of the children’s interests, abilities, social connections, and self-esteem.

Our Educational Program is guided by The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF V2.0, 2022).

Belonging...
Supporting children sense of belonging. Developing trusting relationships and providing affirming experiences are crucial to children’s wellbeing.
Being...
Children need time to just be.. play, try new things and have fun. “It is about children knowing themselves, developing their identity, building and maintaining relationships with others, engaging in life’s joys and complexities, and meeting challenges in everyday life”. (EYLF, pg6)
Becoming...
Becoming reflects the significant and rapid change that occurs during the early years of childhood. The collaboration of educators, families and communities support children’s connections and capabilities.

We use this framework to build on child's interest and abilities. This EYLF is not a syllabus, It's a framework of principles, practices and outcomes with which to build our curriculum and educational program.

The core learning outcomes that we assist your child to develop:

  1. A strong sense of their identity

  2. Connections with their world

  3. A strong sense of wellbeing

  4. Confidence and involvement in their learning

  5. Effective communications skills

Each child enrolled at the kindergarten will have comprehensive and on-going developmental records. These records are displayed online via the Kinderloop app and includes examples of your child's work throughout the year and photos.

The kindergarten has established strong links with local schools and also with specialists such as speech pathologists and occupational therapists to ensure every child has the smoothest possible transition to school.

This year we are partnering with The Resilience Project (TRP) to deliver their 2024 Early Years Wellbeing Program. The Resilience Project offers emotionally engaging programs to schools and early years services– providing practical, evidence-based, positive mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness.
